G.D.P.R - General Data Protection Regulation

 

NeatFeet is a healthcare business providing private foot health care services to the public on a fee-paying basis.

 

1)    What happens to my personal data when I contact you either on your website or social media page?
a)    Anyone contacting NeatFeet through these methods will only have their data used for the purposes of your enquiry or to answer any questions           you may have. Your details will only be registered and held on file if you become a registered client with us.

2)    What do we do with information you provide me at your first appointment?
a)    Our procedures are medical treatments and requires both personal and medical information to be taken and stored. Medical records must be           completed accurately keeping in line with UK law and to fulfil the requirements of GDPR. At your first appointment some personal details such           as your name, address, date of birth, telephone number, email address and the name of your GP and medical practice details are required. We         will also complete a medical questionnaire. You will be provided with my new client information leaflet which provides information about and               how your personal information is used and stored along with some other information.

 

Please Note: If you do not wish to give your consent, then it will not be possible to carry out a consultation or treatment.

 

Information held about patients may include:


•    personal information
•    family details
•    lifestyle/social information
•    physical and mental health information
•    financial transactions

To provide you with appropriate services we are required to ask you about your health, lifestyle, medical history and medical conditions along with any medication you take. These questions have relevance to your feet and foot health and allow me to provide clients with the most appropriate and safest treatments. Once you are registered with NeatFeet as a client there is a legal requirement to keep your medical notes for a certain period after the last date you finish treatment.  This can vary in length depending on your age and ability to consent, but this will be for a minimum of 8 years. Your details will be destroyed and removed from file after this period.

3)    Who else might your information be shared with if necessary or required?
a)    Your general practitioner or other health professional as part of your care.
b)    Your parent if you are under 16 or welfare guardian/carer with your consent if you require additional support to attend an appointment.
c)    When using your contact details to assist with the administration of your appointments/changes to scheduled appointments and/or reminders             about appointment
d)    Any information provided is confidential and will never be shared or sold to any third party for marketing purposes.

 

Your privacy is taken seriously, and all reasonable steps will be taken to ensure the protection of your data. 

Please note that your right to be forgotten cannot override the legal requirements to keep medical notes for the mandatory period.
